Art x Science, London Science Museum

Art x Science is a collaboration between the Royal College of Art and King's College London, which is supported by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training. The exhibition present a research of how maternal physical and mental health impacts the development of baby’s brains during pregnancy.

Wushuang worked with two artists and a scientist and built up an installation In Utero, based on the research using data acquired with MRI to understand the effect of maternal health on babies' brain development. It was exhibited at The Science Museum London during the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

The whole exhibition includes a video playing moving medical images, a tent-like installation that simulates the womb environment, a set of miniature sculptures referencing medical images, and a related community engagement workshop.

It invites visitors to dive into an immersive environment through light, sound, and materiality and learn about the future of imaging in healthcare.
